I hate the three point shot...

    Imagine this...your football team starts their red zone offense on their own 40 yard line to get to the opposing teams 40 to kick a 10 1/2 point field goal. That is the three pointer in basketball nowadays.
    Forget your o-line, running back, etc. That is what the three pointer has done to the strategy of basketball. Whole offenses are designed around pick and rolls and in and out simple plays to open somebody up for the three point shot. Yuck.
    I hate this but that is mainly because I am old enough to remember teams haveing to play tough and get the ball inside. Not long ago everything was about getting the ball inside. Even the 12' jump shot was not a first option.
    I do not think that I am the only person with this opinion either. I do not believe that it is a coincidence that viewership has decreased as the three has risen. I doubt that most of those viewers even know what caused them to not be as interested in basketball. I do though.
    For the record, I do not criticize any team for shooting the three as the game is now. They have no choice because that is how the game is now. Just not as fun to watch.
