My take:
Much like ECU it is hard to appraise this team as their losses have often come at the hands of good or decent teams. However, getting murdalized by UCF (54-17) should be a good sign for the pirates. Their Houston win was also by a lesser margin. However they also seem to have a somewhat efficient running game to go along with their passing game which has caused problems for ECU against the better teams on their schedules.
Conclusion: Toss up. I would not put any money within a mile of this thing. Best defense will win but how can you correctly predict turnovers or blown coverage?

I'd like to think that the possibility of a 9 win season, no matter who the beat or lost to, should be motivation for the Pirates. It's been 12 years since ECU lost as few as 4 games in a season.

Ken, maybe you know about this. I seem to remember two troubled but talented defensive players for BC were kicked off of the team. The last that I heard they were suiting up for Marshall but I cannot find them on the depth chart. What gives?

You have a better memory than I do. Actually, it was one player, a four-star recruit who would be a fifth year senior at Marshall. His name was Okechuckwu Okoroha (easy for you to say). In sympathy, his best friend Dominick LeGrande (two-stars) quit the team and also transferred to Marshall.
They are both listed as safeties on Marshall's roster for this season, and both are number one on the depth chart at marshall.rivals.com.

Yeah those are the ones that I remember. Okoroha was a four star player. I had heard that they had gotten into some trouble but I guess that has never stopped Marshall from signing or playing anyone.

Besides him and Randy Moss, I'm guessing they've never had any other four star recruits. I believe the question they'd have asked him when he left BC is "what position would you like to play, sir?"

Ahmad Bradshaw flunked INTO Marshall as did Mr.Moss. Heck, those are just the talented ones that people have heard of. Every time I see a talented player at a major college not make it through admissions or commit some crime, Marshall is one of the places that I check for their reappearance. Especially if it is a player that we followed for recruiting reasons and determined that he could not make admissions or was likely to be in jail on National Signing Day. No kidding. It is a running joke within regional recruiting circles.

I know the game will be on some network, thus the Friday @ 3:30 kickoff, but I doubt the basic cable were I am for the holiday includes that network. I can get WITN, will they be broadcasting it as well?

It is listed as CBS sports here. That is a pay channel and I think that means no witn 7 broadcast on this game. That is the channel that caused all that uproar 2 years ago because they bought the ecu unc game and few people had that tier in their cable package.
