I have listed two of only three State players that I looked at. I will look at it more in the next couple days. There were a couple players that I think may look at ecu now. The ones I know about do not "lean" ecu but who knows?? Just saying if even one good player is added that is a plus.

    Who recruited the other players?

Out of the Burton list I think the most attractive would be Vanderbilt as it is no longer a doormat in the SEC. They have really come around. I think it is going to be hard to steal players from the big 5 conferences. They can offer things that we can't. I think it will be easier with the dissolution of the BCS, but the college landscape has been trashed by the BCS, so I think all teams not in the Big 5 will still have trouble recruiting.

Here is a player only three into States' listed commits. A player that looked at both schools (rivals):
Danville (Va.) George Washington tight end Chris Burton was surprised by the news of Tom O'Brien's dismissal. The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder gave his take after just finding out.

Burton is still mulling his next move.
"Honestly, I haven't really thought about it yet," he said. "I'm still in the process of thinking about it. I just found out myself.

"It really surprised me. I didn't think it was actually going to happen. I expected him to be my coach next year."

Burton noted he has not heard from other schools yet, though he did hold offers from the likes of East Carolina, Temple, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and others.

Burton claims that O'Brien was a relatively big factor in his selection in the first place.

    Example from rivals:

Three-star linebacker Jerod Fernandez out of Lake Mary, Fla. was surprised by the news of Tom O'Brien's release from NC State. The Wolfpack commitment maintains he's committed, but is taking other visits coming up."
Other schools that he is looking at are not great...

Wanting a big name and getting one are two different things. They wanted and tried to get one when they got TOB. States program as far as players already there and committed was much stronger when they hired TOB than now. Just saying, ecu should push as hard as possible right away. If they do get a really big name coach I am not sure that he would push too hard to get back some of the three and good two star players that ECU may take. He would be more likely to try and raid what he can from UNC.

Depends on the coach they hire. If they bring a big name in then I think they will stay. Yow is settling for no less than ACC titles, so I am expecting a big name.

TOB fired at State. They have several commits that ecu also looked at positions that unc and wake have likely filled by now. If it takes too long for them to fill the position then ecu could pick up a couple of these players maybe...
