ECU commit giving NC State long look

NC State's win over No. 3 Florida State on Oct. 6 was the highlight of the year for the Wolfpack. They are the only team to beat the ACC Champion Seminoles heading into the postseason, and that fact was not lost on the numerous recruits at the game.

South Carolina native Devaris Brunson will represent his home state in the Shrine Bowl this weekend and then take official visits to at least ECU and NC State.
Lake City (S.C.) three-star linebacker Devaris Brunson was one of the prep standouts at Carter-Finley Stadium that night, and he called that game an eye-opener.

"It was good," he said. "The atmosphere was crazy, so were the fans. I just loved the atmosphere at NC State. Florida State is a pretty good team and to see NC State play all four quarters was a good experience."

The six-foot, 206-pound linebacker, who is playing in this week's Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, has kept in contact with NC State running backs coach Des Kitchings, and is looking forward to his chance to talk with new head coach Dave Doeren.

"I haven't talked to the new coach yet, but since the change, I've talked to Coach Kitchings," Brunson, who has been on campus several times, said. "He's been checking up on me to see how I'm doing and seeing what my next move is going to be."

    What is Brunson's next move?

"Honestly, I can't say what it is going to be right now, I'm still deciding," he said. "I'm going to take it slow."
