UNC should be grateful to ECU for the past two seasons. Last year they started off the season struggling. Then they played well against ECU and won. That game ignited their team and season and they went on to win 8 games that year. Unfortunately, they were not Bowl eligible that year.

This year's game against ECU was a much different outcome. However, I see it as the end results was the same as the previous year. Probably due to the embarrassment of this year's game, it woke the team up. They have played extremely well since that ECU game and now have a chance at another 8 win season (if they can get past Duke this week). Larry Fedora has done a tremendous job in turning that team completely around halfway through the season -- which is extremely hard to do with any team.

Therefore, two different seasons and even two different outcomes in the game have produced a turn around in the UNC team -- thanks to playing ECU. I have to wonder if NC State can capitalize from the same theory in their last game of the season.
