Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk was named to the NHL All-Star roster Tuesday as he will represent the Metropolitan Division.
It will be the 24-year-old Faulk's fourth All-Star appearance. He represented the Hurricanes as a top rookie in 2012, and in the actual All-Star game in 2015 and 2016. Faulk, a 2nd-round pick in 2010, leads Carolina defensemen with seven goals this season.
In other Canes news Tuesday, forward Elias Lindholm was activated from injured reserve. Lindholm, 22, has missed Carolina’s last five games with an upper-body injury. Lindholm has notched four goals and earned nine assists in 30 games this season.
Finally, Andrej Nestrasil cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. Nestrasil has appeared in 114 NHL games over the last three seasons with Carolina, putting up 46 points. He has just five points in 18 games played this year.
