Former UNC, NC State golfers join Wyndham Championship field

Two former ACC and veteran PGA Tour golfers, Davis Love III and Carl Pettersson, will play at the 2013 Wyndham Championship August 12-18. In its 74th edition, the seventh-oldest event on the PGA Tour will be held at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Both golfers are former Wyndham Champions, Love III won the tournament in 1992 and 2006, and Pettersson won in 2008.
Love III, who has 20 career PGA Tour wins, graduated from the University of North Carolina and turned pro in 1985. In 28 years as a professional golfer, the Charlotte-native has 30 second place finishes, 176 top 10 finishes and 315 top 25 finishes with a total career earnings of $42,487,061. He has one major championship, the 1997 PGA Championship, and has made the cut in 516 of 674 events.
Pettersson graduated from Grimsley High School and North Carolina State University and turned pro in 2000. He is currently ranked 46th in the world and 101st on the FedEx Cup rankings with five career PGA Tour wins and a total career earnings of $ $19,797,390.
