"If I get 'Manziel disease,' I want every one of you all to get your mikes and start slapping me on the head." -- Jameis Winston, in August 2013.

After the Heisman Trophy winner was cited for shoplifting $32.72 worth of crab legs and crawfish from a Publix on Tuesday, the slapping has commenced. Winston has been subject to countless college football think pieces, from whether he learned anything from his high-profile rape allegations to potential NFL Draft stock impact.

Winston is also the source of Internet memes that are as delicious as drawn butter.

Taken individually, Winston's dine and dash from the grocery store is truly amusing. Accidental or not, it's easy to chalk up as a self described "youthful indiscrection" plenty of us have committed.

Even previous incidents such as a BB gun shootout and stolen soda from a Burger King are small time.

However, all of that was before Florida State won the National Championship and Winston took home the Heisman.

Those silly moments came before the entire city of Tallahassee was overrun with news trucks covering Winston's rape case. Instead of having a quiet off season until he's back to throwing touchdowns for the Seminoles, now everyone is wondering if Winston truly "gets it."

Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for the laugh.

He was fortunate in the so-called rape case. He is pretty loose right now. I agree with V-VET. He's a total joke of a person.

What is so sad about all of this? The media are making a big joke of it. He is a thief. Plain and simple. Just because Jameis Winston can throw a football, he is treated like a god and seems to be above the law. This clown needs to be prosecuted just like everyone else. If he is not taught his lesson now, who knows. How does the old saying go? "Give em an inch, and they will take a mile".

OK....lets fire up the UNC fans....
What is the difference between PJ and JW?
PJ did not get any community service time where JW did....
PJ just got away with it all...

PS...most of the pictures are from the LOCAL (Panama City or Tallahassee) TV stations. Am in FL and even the announcers were "chuckling" last night about the excuses and the comical remarks of JW's lawyer...
