Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes placed defenseman Tim Gleason on injured reserve Monday, retroactive to Feb. 12, and called up center Riley Nash from the Charlotte Checkers, according to team President and General Manager Jim Rutherford.
Nash, 23, is in his third full professional season and has appeared in 50 games with the Checkers, totaling 11 goals and 24 assists (35 points). He has appeared in five previous games for the Hurricanes, earning one assist.
