NOTES:The LPGA Tour travels to Singapore this week for the HSBC Women's
Champions. The best female golfers in the world will compete at Sentosa Golf Club for the $210,000 first prize. The top 19 players in the world are in the field, led by world No. 1 Lydia Ko.

Ko has finished in the top-7 in all three events she has played this season, including a victory her last time out at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open two weeks ago. The 17-year-old has recorded seven straight top-10 finishes dating back to last season.

The top 20 players from the Rolex Women's World Ranking (as of January 5, 2015), winners on the LPGA Tour from 2014, HSBC Women's Champions winners from the last two years, the 2015 Coates Golf Championship, Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic,ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, and Honda LPGA Thailand winners, sponsor invites and the Singapore qualifier are in the select field of 63 players this week. LPGA members from the 2014 Priority List fill out the field.

The HSBC Women's Champions is the first official stroke-play event that the LPGA Tour has played in Singapore. After five years at Tanah Merah Country Club, the tournament moved to the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club in 2013. Sentosa Golf Club hosted the Singapore Open on the European Tour in 2009 and 2012, won by Ian Poulter and Matteo Manassero.

Last year, Paula Creamer poured in a long, big-breaking eagle putt on the second playoff hole to defeat Azahara Munoz. Creamer carded rounds of 67-73-69-69 to end at 10-under-par 278 with Munoz. The duo narrowly missed birdie putts on the first extra hole, No. 18. They returned to the 18th for a second time. They both found the short grass off the tee. After Munoz laid up in the fairway with her second shot, Creamer knocked her second onto the green.

Munoz played her third to about nine feet, but she never got a chance to putt it. Creamer was some 75 feet from the hole, and her putt broke dramatically from right to left and was downhill. She 2-putted for par in regulation from a similar spot, but this time hit a perfect putt and it rolled into the center of the hole for eagle and the win. Creamer had played 79 events since her last win at the 2010 U.S. Women's Open.

Jiyai Shin fired a 6-under 66 in the final round to come from behind and win in 2009. She finished at 11-under 277 and won by two strokes over third-round leader Katherine Hull, who tallied a double bogey and two bogeys on her back nine for a 2-over 74. It was Shin's first victory as an LPGA member.

In 2008, Lorena Ochoa endured three rain delays in the final round to cruise to victory. Ochoa, who fired rounds of 66-65-69-68, was the only player in the field to shoot all four rounds in the 60s. She held an 8-shot, third-round lead and finished the tournament at 20-under 268. That was good enough for an eye-opening, 11-stroke victory over Annika Sorenstam.

The LPGA Tour moves back across the Pacific Ocean to Arizona in two weeks for the JTBC Founders Cup in Phoenix, where Karrie Webb will defend her title.
