Bae tops Bradley to win Byron Nelson title

Irving, TX (Sports Network) - Sang-Moon Bae managed a 1-under 69 in windy conditions Sunday to top Keegan Bradley and win the Byron Nelson Championship.

Bae finished his first PGA Tour title at 13-under-par 267.

"I'm very, very happy. I had a great time. I was a little nervous the last hole, but I did it. I gave it my best this week," Bang said on television.

Bradley, the 2011 winner, stumbled to a 2-over 72 to finish two back at minus-11. Charl Schwartzel closed with a 2-under 68 to grab third place at 10- under-par 270.

Justin Bolli took fourth at the TPC Four Seasons Resort after firing a 5-under 65 in the final round. He finished at minus-9.

Former PGA Champion Martin Kaymer posted a 2-under 68 to end alongside Scott Piercy (72) and Morgan Hoffmann (66) in fifth place at 8-under-par 272.

Bradley led Bae by one at the start of the round, but they exchanged positions at the third. Bae drained a 26-footer for birdie to move to 13-under, while Bradley found water off the tee and scrambled to a bogey to slide to minus-12.

Bae, who has 11 international victories to his credit, quickly pulled away from Bradley from there. The Korean, who now lives in the United States, sank a 22-footer for birdie on the fifth.

He followed with a 5-foot birdie effort at the sixth, and made it three in a row with a 2-putt birdie at the par-5 seventh. The spurt moved Bae to minus-16, where he was four clear of Bradley.

As quickly as he pulled away, Bae fell back just as fast. After a poor drive on the ninth, his second flew the green and went into the water. He chipped on, then 2-putted for double-bogey.

Bradley could have gotten within one, but he failed to convert a 14-footer for birdie at the ninth. Bae tripped to a bogey at the 10th as well, and his lead was down to one.

After seven consecutive pars, Bradley 3-putted for bogey from inside 20 feet at the par-4 11th and again was two behind. There was another 2-stroke swing at the 15th.

Bae missed the green with his approach, then chipped within five feet of the hole. Bradley drained a 17-footer for birdie, then watched as Bae's par putt lipped out.

The pair were tied for the lead, but that didn't last long. Bae came up short with his second to the par-5 16th. He chipped to five feet and drained the birdie putt.

Bradley chipped his third to four feet, but missed the birdie putt. He knocked his tee ball at the par-3 17th over the green and that led to a bogey, which dropped him two back.

Bae made a routine par at the last to seal the win.

"The course was really tough. The winds were very strong," Bae said of Sunday's conditions.

Bradley earned his second top-5 finish at this event, and credited Bae for his play.

"Moon played really well. I'm disappointed, but I'll get over it," Bradley stated. "He's a great guy. A very, very good player that played really good today. The shots he hit on 17 and 18 were pretty good."

NOTES: Bae earned $1,206,000 for the win ... This was Bae's second top-10 of the season ... He became the fifth golfer of Korean descent to win on the PGA Tour ... Bae is the 11th player to earn his first tour win at this event ... His come-from-behind win was the seventh in the last eight PGA Tour tournaments ... Last year's winner, Jason Dufner, shot 2-over 72 and dropped into a share of 31st ... The PGA Tour heads to Colonial next week for the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, where Zach Johnson beat Dufner by one shot last year.
