Tiger withdraws from Players Championship

Posted May 9, 2010

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Players Championship with an apparent injury on the seventh hole of the final round.

After hitting his tee shot on No. 7 far right Sunday, Woods called over an official. He hit his second shot and grimaced in apparent pain again.

Woods then walked to the middle of the fairway to shake hands with playing partner Jason Bohn before leaving on a golf cart.

Early reports say it is a neck injury and he will not play any further.

I guess he wrenched his neck/back craning around to see a woman...

If the guy has a bad back then he can't play golf! This is the same guy who won a major on a broken leg. I get that you don't like the guy but at least be sensible with your comments.

Really, take some Advil and gut it out, not exactly championship behavior from a so - called pro. Guess he is just not accustomed to losing or not being in the mix. Tiger still has much to learn. Many have a princely sum to see him play, whether he's at top form or not he should at least show some class and grit and scramble the last 11 holes and finish.
