GYM: Wolfpack Posts Season Best Road Score of 195.525

The NC State gymnastics team posted a season best road score of 195.525 Friday evening, as the squad competed in a dual meet against top-ranked LSU inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers won the competition with a score of 197.500.
The Wolfpack opened the meet on the uneven parallel bars, where the squad posted a team score of 48.800. Brittni Watkins, Stephanie Ouellette and Michaela Woodford led the way for the squad with a score of 9.800, while Diahanna Ham notched a 9.750.
The squad next moved to vault, where Watkins posted 9.875, marking her eighth score of 9.850 or better on the event this season. Ham notched a score of 9.850, while Ouellette posted a 9.825. In addition, senior Hannah Fallanca scored a 9.800 and Lane Jarred totaled a 9.775. As a group, the Wolfpack scored a 49.125 on the event.
At the midway point of the meet, the top-ranked Tigers led the Wolfpack, 98.825-97.925.
Watkins once again led the way on the floor exercise with a score of 9.875. She has now notched a score of 9.875 or better in her last six competitions on floor. Ouellette also posted a score of 9.850. In addition, Jarred and sophomore Aubrey Hine each scored a 9.775 on their routines. As a group, State scored a 48.900 in the event.
NC State concluded the evening on the balance beam, where Watkins led the way for the squad with a 9.825. Ouellette and Fallanca each notched a 9.775, while Kristen Harabedian scored a 9.750. On the apparatus, the team totaled a score of 48.700.
In the all-around competition, Watkins finished second on the podium with a score of 39.375, while Ouellette totaled a 39.250.
Up next, State will conclude its regular season with its final home meet of the campaign. The squad will host New Hampshire on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
