Harding named Duke football radio analyst

Former All-ACC offensive guard, and no stranger to the microphone, Dave Harding will transition from the sideline to the broadcast booth as the lead analyst for Duke football on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network.
Harding replaces Wes Chesson, who retired after serving the past 36 seasons as the network’s analyst alongside Hall of Fame play-by-play announcer Bob Harris. Harding will pair with newly-appointed play-by-play broadcaster David Shumate.
“I’m both humbled and honored to transition into the role of analyst for Duke Football,” Harding said. “Sincere thanks to Pat Streko for this incredible opportunity and to Bob Harris and Wes Chesson. Without their guidance and support, I would not have been prepared for such an appointment. My passion for Duke Football is immeasurable, and my goal is to provide all Blue Devil fans with passionate, in-depth analysis of the action on the field.”
Duke football games can be heard on 99.3 FM in Raleigh, 96.5 FM in Durham and on 620 AM.
Harding started 41 games along the offensive line at Duke and was a team captain in 2013 when the Blue Devils won a school single-season record 10 games and captured the ACC Coastal Division championship. He served the 2016 season as the sideline reporter on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network.
“First off, congratulations to Dave – he’s worked extremely hard and is deserving of this opportunity,” Duke head coach David Cutcliffe said. “We are indebted to Wes Chesson for 36 years of broadcasting with unwavering support and dedication to our program – he will be missed – but at the same time we’re excited for Dave to join David Shumate in the booth.”
John Roth will serve as the sideline reporter for Duke football games and continue in his role as lead analyst for Blue Devil basketball contests. In addition, John Rose returns as the engineer for the network broadcast team.
