Harper endorses the red heels

Raleigh, N.C. — Shoe deals are nothing new in the world of coaching, but NC State women's head coach Kellie Harper is really taking the idea to new heights.
"It started with me wearing high heels to games and my assistant coach wanting me to get a sponsorship," Harper said.
The Kellie Harper Collection will debut this season. Red and black heels with the Wolfpack logo made specifically for the Wolfpack coach — an industry first thanks to Raleigh company Fan Feet.
"It just kinda worked, it was a natural partnership because their NC State shoes are so pretty," said Harper. Harper endorses the red heels
She is one of the few coaches brave enough to wear heels while trying to chase down the refs and navigate the sidelines.
"You know growing up when I had watched coaches like Pat Summitt, she wore some heels on the sideline, they may not have been very tall but they were heels. She always looked really professional," said Harper. "I started with a very short heel not very tall. I ended up buying a pair of cute shoes and I wanted to wear them for a game. They kinda stuck and it's been my thing now."
Her trademark look has taken off. Harper has fun with it, even wearing bright pink shoes for last year's Hoops for Hope game.
"There's this expectation now that I'm going to have something really cool or really flashy for, especially for the Hoops for Hope game so I have to raise the bar every single year," Harper joked.
Perhaps the only Wolfpack coach to truly love the 'Heels' as long as they are red.
