Heels, Pack washed out at DBAP

Posted April 15

Duel at the DBAP between the NC State Wolfpack and the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball teams is postponed due to rain on April 15, 2014 in Durham, NC. (Will Bratton/WRAL contributor)

— Tuesday's game between UNC and NC State at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The call to cancel came just before 7:30 p.m. after sustained rain throughout the day made the field unplayable.

A make-up game has not been announced yet but team spoksepeople said that tickets for Tuesday's game will be honored at the rescheduled date. The match up was scheduled as a non-conference meeting between the traditional conference rivals.

Neither team has a schedule conducive to a spot-game without avoiding a six game in six days scenario. The best date on the calendar when each team is off and the Bulls are away is April 30 - during exam week.

UNC is scheduled to play Elon on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Chapel Hill. NC State is scheduled to play Boston College at home on Friday in the first of 15 in a row at Doak.

And how was your school ranked in the top 10 as well?

    #29 and falling rapidly.

The Tar Heels were #17 preseason actually. Fact checking has never been State's strong area.

Washout is fitting for the teams this year. But still time for both to turn things around.

Both teams desperately fighting to even make the ACCT this year.

Agree, and that's sad considering all the hopes and expectations.

On the plus side, at least State didn't lose again.

No refund, no Exchange. Printed on my two tickets. So it was close to a sellout of 10K @ $10 per ticket. Wonder where that $100K is going and being distributed?

Might be the fans that got 'soaked' on this one - I understand the tickets were not refundable once purchased.
