Hurricanes re-sign Zac Dalpe

The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed forward Zac Dalpe to a one-year, two-way deal Friday.

Dalpe, who recorded three points in 10 NHL games last season, will earn $550,000 if he plays on the NHL team or $125,000 if he plays in the AHL next season with a guarantee of $150,000.

The 6-foot-1, 23-year-old played two years at Ohio State University before being selected No. 45 overall by the Hurricanes in the 2008 NHL Draft. Dalpe has appeared in 41 career NHL games with the Hurricanes and has scored five goals and earned five assists.

Dalpe led the AHL Charlotte Checkers in plus/minus (+16) and ranked fourth in goals (21) and points (42) in 54 games. In 180 career AHL games, he recorded 68 goals and 71 assists.
