Recalled on an emergency basis Friday, Boychuk recorded an assist and recorded 7:53 of ice time during Carolina's 5-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Boychuk leads the Checkers in goals (9), assists (10) and points (19) and is tied for first in the AHL in power-play goals (7).

The Hurricanes are traveling Sunday to begin a four-game, nine-day road trip. The first of those games is Sunday, when the Hurricanes visit Rogers Arena at 10 p.m. to face the Vancouver Canucks.
