— The Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned forwards Chris Terry and Zach Boychuk to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, the team announced Friday.

Terry, 24, earned his first two NHL assists Thursday in Carolina's 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars. He played in two games during his most recent recall, and he's appeared in 10 games for the Hurricanes in 2013-14.

Boychuk, also 24, skated 8:06 of ice time against the Stars on Thursday. He's totaled four points in 10 NHL games this season.

The Hurricanes return to action Saturday when they host the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m. (99.9 FM The Fan).

I don't know what's wrong with Chris Terry's game that he can't stay here. I really like how he plays.

Sending Chris Terry back was just another 'Canes management blunder' - he played really well while up with the Canes. Guess Charlotte needs him for their playoff run - Canes will not have that opportunity - if Philly wins one of their remaining 6 games and Detroit wins one of their 5 games left and Columbus wins 2 of their 5 left or the Canes lose 2 of their 5 games left, the Canes are toast!
