Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday that forwards Brett Sutter and Jeremy Welsh have been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League and forward Chris Terry has been recalled.
In addition, forward Tim Brent has been activated from injured reserve.
Sutter, 25, played in three games after being called up March 3, and Welsh, 23, earned his first point Thursday in Carolina's 4-2 loss to Montreal. Terry, 23, leads all Checkers with 22 goals and 46 points on the season. This is Terry's first NHL recall since 2009.
The Hurricanes wrap up a three-game home stand Saturday with a 7 p.m. tilt against the New Jersey Devils.
