Hurricanes recall Nodl from Checkers

Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled forward Andreas Nodl from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, General Manager Jim Rutherford announced Wednesday.
Nodl was assigned to Charlotte two weeks ago and recorded a goal and three assists in five games. He split the 2011-12 season between Philadelphia and Carolina, totaling eight points in 60 NHL games.
After falling to the Boston Bruins 5-3 Monday, the Hurricanes are back on the ice Friday evening when the Ottawa Senators visit PNC Arena at 7 p.m.
Following Friday's game, the Hurricanes embark on a six-game road trip, the longest of the shortened regular season.
