Hurricanes recall rookie forward Elias Lindholm

Posted November 22, 2013

Elias Lindholm (16) takes a shot during play at the PNC Center between the the Carolina Hurricanes and the Detroit Red Wings on October 4, 2013 in Raleigh, NC.

The Carolina Hurricanes on Friday recalled rookie forward Elias Lindholm from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Lindholm, who was assigned to Charlotte on Nov. 6, scored one goal and recorded two assists in six games with the Checkers. He will replace Chris Terry on the Carolina roster, with Terry being reassigned to Charlotte.

Lindholm tallied two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 10 games with the Hurricanes before being reassigned. He will likely see time on the power play once he returns to the lineup.

The Hurricanes face the Boston Bruins Saturday at TD Garden (1 p.m., Fox Sports South, 99.9 FM The Fan) and return to PNC Arena Sunday for a 5 p.m. matchup with the Ottawa Senators.

Guess the team needs more scoring? Terry was money on the shootout.

They should keep Terry and Lindholm here and send Staal and Ward to Charlotte. Terry and Lindholm act like they want to play, unlike the other two.

A goal 17 second in, really?? Hate to be a pessimist but I saw last night coming...the canes always seem to end other team's losing streaks for them. Staal penalty was completely bogus, the guy was already horizontal when staal touched his skate. Then they call icing when a Wing checked our guy skating for the puck, and Detroit hadn't even made the circle...I like the no-touch but they really need to take another look at the icing rules.

Some penalties were bad calls, but Staal kicked the puck in for the winning goal. Tripp Tracey always downplays these situations. He needs to be paid for being a PR agent for Ward and the Staals.

Brace yourselves for the thud into last place in the division.

I have to agree with a lot of folks, especially as a season ticket holder. I am no hockey expert, but Eric and his brother don't seem to play like they really want to play. I was looking forward to Semin's arrival, but he is not playing like I expected. Nash and Terry are the ones who have scored on our shoot outs...can't see sending Terry to Charlotte. Send Eric.

Noting where the Canes are presently at the 1/4th point of the NHL season, I think it is time for the Cane's 'brain trust' (whomever that might be) to get their heads together and make some SIGNIFICANT changes to shake the present roster members out of the 'going through the motions' patterns (think you may know whom I'm talking about). What the Canes have now just isn't getting the job done on a consistent manner. Canes management needs to quit kidding themselves and DO SOMETHING!

Team chemistry on the ice seems to be a HUGE problem - by this time line chemistry should be well in place and it isn't! On ice teamwork is totally lacking - too much solo effort, poor passing, etc. all leading toa lack of scoring.
