Hurricanes sign forward Tolchinsky to 3-year deal

Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday announced that they have signed forward Sergey Tolchinsky to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The deal will pay Tolchinsky $550,000 at the NHL level or $55,000 at the AHL level in the first year. He will also receive a $150,000 signing bonus.
Tolchinsky, 18, spent the 2012-13 season in Ontario Hockey League with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He tallied 26 goals and 25 assists in 62 regular season games.
A native of Moscow, Russia, Tolchinsky spent the summer attending development camps in Raleigh with the Hurricanes and New York with the Rangers.
