Posted August 22, 2013

— The Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday announced that they have signed forward Sergey Tolchinsky to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The deal will pay Tolchinsky $550,000 at the NHL level or $55,000 at the AHL level in the first year. He will also receive a $150,000 signing bonus.

Tolchinsky, 18, spent the 2012-13 season in Ontario Hockey League with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He tallied 26 goals and 25 assists in 62 regular season games.

A native of Moscow, Russia, Tolchinsky spent the summer attending development camps in Raleigh with the Hurricanes and New York with the Rangers.
