Scott Walker met with the Raleigh Sports Council yesterday before the Hurricanes match-up with the Boston Bruins. The forward who has been on the injured reserve list on 1/29 with an “upper body” (concussion) injury. Walker has been suffering from some headaches and is following doctors orders. Walker told the crowd that he has had some good days, but after a work out and an ice session yesterday he felt better, but on his drive to the arena he suffered an “extreme headache”. He has been talking to the doctors and has been told to relax and has not been feeling ill while working out which is a good sign.
With Justin Williams out a month with a broken hand, the Canes could use Walker's grit on the ice. Also with the trade deadline approaching the organization needs to know where the roster stands and what players are available if a deal can be made.
Walker also added fond memories of playing alongside defenseman Glen Wesley and the late nights they shared on the road.
