The Carolina Hurricanes' defense has been banged up all season. The 'Canes top six defenseman have missed a combined 93 games. Now, more injury news on the blue line for the Hurricanes.
Joni Pitkanen did not travel with the team to Long Island for tonight's game against the Islanders. The Finn has already missed 8 games this year, he's day-to-day with an upper body injury.
However, the 'Canes should have defensive leader Tim Gleason back tonight on the Island. Gleason did travel to New York, and is expected to play tonight. Gleason has missed 12 games this season, including the last 2 games after blocking a shot with his left hand.
