Hurricanes place Williams on IR

The Carolina Hurricanes have officially placed Justin Williams injured reserve. The winger broke his hand February 15th in Buffalo when he was struck by an Anton Babchuk slap shot.
Williams missed the first 28 games of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon and most of last season with a left knee injury. In 32 games this season Williams has 10 points (3g, 7a) and was playing on a line with Matt Cullen and Ray Whitney at the time of the injury.
