Carolina Hurricanes center Matt Cullen probably won't be available when the team heads on the road to New Jersey on Saturday night. Cullen took a hard shot off the foot in Friday's win over the New York Islanders, he then played just over eight minutes the next night against Washington.
Paul Branecky on the 'Canes website reported that next Thursday's home game against the Rangers is Cullen's possible return date. However, winger Scott Walker could finally make his return from the concussion on Saturday.
Cullen was on a hot little stretch before he was injured. He has 12 points in his last ten games, including the Capitals game on Saturday which he barely played in. He is just four goals shy from setting his career best for goals in a season (25), and seven points shy from having his most productive season in that category (49).
