The Carolina Hurricanes will continue to be televised on FOX Sports Carolinas through the 2013-14 season after a multi-year deal was reached Thursday.

FOX Sports Carolinas will televise, in high-definition, all Hurricanes regular-season and playoff games not carried by NHL national rights holders as well as produce pre- and post-game shows for every game. More Info     Carolina Hurricanes Logo More Hurricanes Stories

“We are very pleased to continue to partner with FOX Sports Carolinas as the Hurricanes’ television rights holder,” said Karmanos. “This new deal is an important piece for the growth of our business, and it’s a major win for fans who will get to see every game on local television.”

The current deal, which calls for 65 of the team’s regular-season games to be televised, will remain in effect for 2012-13.

The Carolina Hurricanes open a back-to-back set of home games on Friday at PNC Arena against the Winnipeg Jets, before hosting the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

Thank you for finally having every game available to watch on TV.

People will complain about anything without doing any due diligence....there are tons of affordable tickets for the Canes yet all they will do is complain about is high ticket prices.

I am curious if the owners will ever get the itch to leave if they find a Canadian city that is wanting a team. The team has not made the playoffs very many years since the cup season (hard to believe that has been six long years ago). I think they have only made it once since then.

With the high prices for tickets and parking and concessions, I am curious as to how many people go on a non weekend game day. I personally would have a hard time spending the money for a family of 4 to go during the week especially when the kids have school the next day. Besides a minor league baseball game gives little kids who don't know about major league sports the same entertainment value for a fraction of the costs.

Nothing personal against the Canes, just curious if there is enough in terms of hockey fan interests to keep this going long term when the team does not make many playoff appearances.

i dont agree about this not being affordable for a family of 4. The Canes have a group of seats that if bought in advance are only 9.99 per ticket. If you go on a family night which they have a ton of through the year, hot dogs are only a $1. Even with parking you are still looking at around $60, about the same as a movie with their prices now and sorry minor league baseball games both you are spending only a little less, and there is no comparison of the product you are seeing. No issues if you say you like baseball better then hockey and that is why you would do a baseball game, but taking my girls to both, they enjoy the hockey game much more then the Mudcats or the Bulls. The Canes are one of the more affordable tickets in the NHL as long as you buy the tickets in advance since they do go up the week of the game.

What about a local web option? I would watch more games if they weren't only on pay tv services.

the web stuff goes through nhl.com but you have to pay for it.

Wonderful.

More meaningless games of the mediocre Tropical Depressions on TV ... wonderful.

Go back to Pittsburgh and make me some ketchup. We don't give a rats behind what you think.
