Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes signed rookie center Brody Sutter and added a second year for defenseman Justin Krueger, the team announced Friday.
Krueger, 25, led the Charlotte Checkers in plus/minus in his first pro season last year. His new contract is worth $600,000 on the NHL level or $90,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level in 2012-13, with a guarantee of at least $105,000.

Sutter was drafted in 2011 by the Hurricanes and played junior hockey last season for the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Lethbridge Hurricanes. His 30 goals and 60 points were the most for that team. Sutter played four games in Charlotte in the spring, scoring one goal. His contract will pay $525,000 per season at the NHL level, or $55,000 per season at the minor-league level, and includes a $105,000 signing bonus.

You are right. Another Sutter is never a bad thing. I hope the best for both of these players, but I am pretty sure neither one is going to be that impact player we are looking for.

These guys sound pretty solid. Happy for them and the team. Go Canes. Just win.

Those Sutter boys are just born to play hockey it seems. Still waiting for news of that big time first liner to play alongside Staal. Maybe they are waiting on Parise to finish? I hear that Parise signing here is nearly impossible as he wants to play on a bigger stage than Raleigh - more like a New York, LA or Detroit (groan) type of environment.

Another Sutter on the depth charts can't hurt at all especially one that's 6'5 and plays center. Cool
