Bring the Pain- the new CBA will be in place before anything happens also it is not just the junior team which he has done a lot for, but the Hurricanes have put a lot of money into RYHA which is the youth hockey in this area to strengthen it. A lot of the local teams have done well in national tournaments. I can't say to what degree he ok's things but the Hurricanes name being with RYHA has helped them out a lot. He has also donated a lot of money to USA hockey to help themout.

Which is why I have a feeling that he won't get much in this offseason. If we get to a very shortened season again with the extremely brief FA period, bids might get to high for old K-man. Who did we pick up during the FA period last time around?

Congrats to Mr. Karmanos. It's easy to be critical, but the Triangle isn't exactly a hockey hotbed. I hope he keeps his word in paying real $$$ to get some good talent in the free agent market.

He won't. He'd be crazy to load up on big contracts prior to a new collective bargaining agreement in place.
