The Carolina Hurricanes will host three games and travel for five in the 2012 preseason they announced Tuesday.
The Hurricanes will open the preseason at Columbus on Wednesday, Sept. 26, as they play the first of five games in five days. The Canes will then play at the Tampa Bay Lightning before hosting the Nashville Predators at PNC Arena on Friday, Sept. 28. They will travel to Nashville before closing their five-game stretch at home against Tampa Bay in a Sunday afternoon game on Sept. 30. Carolina will face the Montreal Canadiens at the Pepsi Collisee in Quebec City, Que., on Oct. 2, and wraps up a back-to-back set against the Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Oct. 3. The Hurricanes play the last of their eight-game preseason schedule at PNC Arena on Oct. 5 against the Blue Jackets.
