Forward Patrick Dwyer was returned to the Albany River Rats a day after being called up to the Carolina Hurricanes roster. Dwyer took ten shifts and played 5:57 in the Hurricanes 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St Pete's Times Forum, recording one shot and one hit. Dwyer replaced winger Patrick Eaves who was injured Friday night against St Louis with what the team has called an upper body injury.

There is no news concerning Patrick Eaves status for Tuesday night's contest against the New Jersey Devils, if Carolina does not make a roster move and Eaves is unable to play, expect Wade Brookbank to dress for the Hurricanes against the Devils. Brookbank has one goal and 40 penalty minutes this year and has been a healthy scratch the last four games.

Other injury news, defenseman Nic Wallin played in his first game since December 6th, when he suffered an ankle injury against Philadelphia. Wallin played just under twelve minutes in his return.
