Hurricanes reassign Ryan and Petruzalek

The Carolina Hurricanes sent forwards Jakub Petruzalek and Michael Ryan back to the team’s AHL affiliate Albany River Rats.

Ryan called up on January 28th played in four of the last five games for Carolina and recorded zero points. Ryan played on the fourth line primarily in his stint with the Canes and returns to Albany where he has scored 23 goals so far this season.

Petruzalek recorded an assist and was a +1 in 10:32 of ice time in the Canes victory over San Jose on Thursday. The 23 year old leads Albany in assists with 22 in 47 games. Petruzalek played in the past two games, both Carolina wins, on the team’s fourth line and saw ice time on both the power play and penalty kill.

Carolina announced no other roster changes and still has forwards Rod Brind’Amour and Scott Walker on the injured list. Brind’Amour is suffering from a lower body injury while Walker has an upper body malady.
