Staal could return to game action on Wednesday
By Tim Hall Nov 24, 2009
The Carolina Hurricanes' superstar center could be back in the lineup Wednesday night in a road game in Anaheim.
Staal hasn't played since the team's match against San Jose on November 1. He's since missed 10 straight games with an upper body injury he suffered in that game.
Team insider and TV play-by-play voice John Forslund told 99.9 The Fan and 620 The Buzz that Staal is very close to coming back.
"I think he's gonna play Wednesday in Anaheim, I heard he had a wonderful workout today (Monday) in Dallas," Forslund told The Fan.
One of the big questions now is how Staal's return to the lineup will affect Brandon Sutter's role with the team.
"Where does he go, does Staal go back on the top line? Do you move Sutter off that line? It's kind of a good problem to have," Forslund said. "But it will be an interesting decision that Paul Maurice will be faced with."
Sutter's season stats with the Canes include 5 goals and 4 assists in just 14 games. Staal has 3 goals and 2 assists in 13 games this year.
The Canes face-off at Anaheim at 10 p.m. Wednesday night. Catch the Stormfront on 99.9 The Fan at 9:30 followed by the call of the game.

Hey, e'... sounds like you're not a hockey fan. If not, I don't get your comments, unless you're just trying to get reactions from people. There's no other reason that you would post here. If you are a fan, what team do you pull for?

what a bitter, bitter fanbase. most fair weather fans i've ever encountered. it makes me sad to be from right here. bwa haha. and a FAN OF HOCKEY, ER, THE ICE CAPADES? surely you jest? nobody is a fan of hockey. you can tell by attendance. oh go ahead, tell me that it's expanding. except for the people at the games. NOBODY CARES ABOUT THIS SPORT. it'll be shut down in three years. there is a reason ESPN doesn't carry it anymore. IT IS BORING, IT SUCKS, and apparantly, the fans of the hurriclowns think that RICK FLAIR is the coach and that STEVE AUSTIN is the best player.
those ice skates sure are cute, and all that body armour? if this is such a tough guy sport, why do they have to have helmets?
anyhow, staal sucks, cam ward is a wimp, the coach has NEVER WON ANYTHING and the arena is a terrible venue in a terrible town with terrible fans of a terrible team.
take hockey back to the czech republic or wherever the heck it is popular.

It will be nice to see him return to action, I only hope he is fully healthy and not rushing back in to play.
There's one sure way to spot a loser. A loser is message board poster who goes to other teams message boards to bash a team they don't care for. Usually these losers were fans of the teams the Hurricanes knocked out of the playoffs in the past.

Exactly, probably just another bitter buffalo boy who can't win a title at anything no matter how many tries they get
