Raleigh, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes signed Zac Dalpe to a three-year, entry-level deal Thursday, Jason Karmanos, team assistant general manager, said.
Dalpe, a sophomore center at Ohio State University, led the Buckeyes and the Central Collegiate Hockey Associateion with 21 goals in 2009-10. His 45 points were second in the conference.
The Canes drafted Dalpe with their second-round pick in the 2008 entry draft (45th overall).
Dalpe will report to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League on an amateur tryout contract for the rest of the season, Rutherford said. He will be paid a $65,000 salary with a $262,500 signing bonus.
