NCSU's Johnson, Wentz earn ACC weekly honors

Posted November 12, 2012

— Corner Dontae Johnson held Wake Forest wide receiver Michael Campanaro to just five catches in NC State's 37-6 win over the Deacons Saturday and on Monday was named the ACC co-defensive back of the week.

Johnson limited Campanaro to just 14 receiving yards, more than 70 below his season average, and also recorded five solo tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble in the second half of NC State's bounce-back win.

NC State offensive lineman Camden Wentz was also honored by the conference as Offensive Lineman of the Week after playing 86 snaps and recording 13 knockdown blocks.

Making his 36th consecutive start at center, Wentz posted the offensive line's top grade of 88 percent and helped the Wolfpack tally 428 yards of total offense.

Other weekly honors went to Virginia quarterback Michael Rocco, Florida State wide receiver Rashad Greene, Florida State defensive end Cornelius Carradine, Georgia Tech linebacker Quayshawn Nealy, Miami linebacker Gionni Paul, Virginia defensive back Maurice Candy, Georgia Tech kick returner Jamal Golden and Miami running back Duke Johnson.
