Leslie, Brown considering NBA

Posted March 26, 2013

— North Carolina State University juniors C.J. Leslie and Lorenzo Brown are weighing a go at the NBA after the Wolfpack's first-round ouster from the NCAA tournament last weekend.

Leslie's mother said Tuesday that the family was planning a sit-down to talk about his future.

National reports have both players leaving. Underclassmen have until April 28 to declare for the NBA Draft,

I'm a State fan as well and I think this is 100% correct.

Success in '74 and '83 has made States fans of a certain generation delusional and unrealistic. CJL & Zo need to make the best decision for themselves, not for State fans.

You State fans are so ungrateful!! Except for '83 and some time in the '70's YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AT BEST!!! Two players (CJ and Lorenzo) come to Raleigh instead of going to a proven collegiate winner and you complain?? What do you want them to do? They DEFINITELY could have gone to a better school and I actually LIKE State so I am not a hater. They made MILLIONS for NC State but they should be forever in State's debt for getting a scholarship? State came out WAY ahead on that side!! The problem is that you want them to make YOUR dreams come true and not theirs. You want this story book scenario where they give you everything for four years and entertain you and take pics with your kids. But what happens when they graduate and don't achieve their goals? These guys are no different than any other college kid that wants to have the best job with the best pay. Believe it or not they ARE auditioning for the NBA when they get on the court and they should showcase their talents. So fold up your little red sweater vests and Brooks Brother khakis and put them in the closet because the season is over. Instead of you grown men hurling insults at two talented young people, how about giving these kids encouragement and thanks for coming to your average University.

Harrison Barnes has been alright; Marshall should have definitely stayed another year....

Both gentlemen should return for their senior season. Only thing that would do is improve their draft stock. This season wasn't great, but there is the opportunity to build on this past season. I don't think they accomplished as much as the talent on the team states, but I do wish both would stay and make their mark on Wolfpack basketball. Everyone is talking about CJ's attitude, but I recall some games were he brought it 100%. We just need him to do that for every game. Gentlemen, the NBA is not going anywhere! I think you can build on this season and make next season even better.

Good riddance......State will be better off without their cancerous laziness.

Very well said, I agree with everything except where you say that both appear intelligent enough to at least be average students. I might be wrong but Leslie appears dumb as a rock to me. I also agree with what you say about Brown. My feeling is when Brown first came to State, he worked hard and was humble. After last year, I think he got way over confident and he made too many mistakes.

Leslie will never succeed in the NBA. He will not be a first round draft choice so he will have to make a team. He never gained an ounce of muscle while at State, he is too thin to have an inside game in the NBA and he has a poor outside shot so he cannot succeed there. His ability at the free throw line is awful. Plus, scouts know he has a bad attitude. I know for a fact, that when Tyler Lewis said after the season was over that he was disappointed because some players never bought in and dogged it in practice, that one of those players he was referring to was Leslie. Please Leslie, enter the draft and take your attitude with you, you are a cancer on this team and you need to go somewhere, anywhere. As for Brown, he has the tools to make it. There are good reasons to stay and to go, so whatever he decides, he will be fine.

TJ Warren has also appeared on some NBA Draft boards.

He is a senior, there is no decision to make.
