Durham, N.C. — Duke University sophomore midfielder Deemer Class has been named the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week following his stellar performance against Syracuse. It is the first weekly honor for Class and the third time a Blue Devil has garnered the award this season.
In a 2-0 week that included a dominant 21-7 victory over No. 6 Syracuse, Class totaled 14 points on seven goals and seven assists. The Baltimore, Md., native started the week with a goal and three assists in Duke’s 19-4 win over Furman. His three assists versus the Paladins were a career high at the time.
Five days later against No. 6 Syracuse, the first-year starter put together a memorable performance as he scored six first‐half goals en route to a 10‐point outing. His 10 points marked the first time since 2010 a Blue Devil registered double-digit points and were one shy of matching the Duke single‐game record of 11.
Duke, 8-2 overall, returns home looking to continue its nine-game home win streak when it faces off with Harvard March 29 at 12 p.m.
