MLB Game Summary - Miami at Houston

(Sunday, July 27)

Final Score: Miami 4, Houston 2

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcell Ozuna and Garrett Jones homered to lead the Miami Marlins to a 4-2 victory and a three-game sweep of the Houston Astros on Sunday.

Casey McGehee and Jordany Valdespin each drove in a run for the Marlins, who have won four straight and seven of their last eight.

Jacob Turner (4-6) earned the win after giving up just one run on six hits with four strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings.

"We are playing well. The sweep shows that," said Turner. "Now we have to go home and keep that going."

Jose Altuve homered among his three hits for Houston, which dropped its fifth straight game.

Starter Collin McHugh (4-9), who was activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game, lasted 6 1/3 innings. He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk with nine strikeouts in his sixth-straight loss.

The Marlins started the scoring right away in the first. Christian Yelich singled to left and came home on Valdespin's line drive triple down the right- field line. Two batters later, Valdespin scored on McGehee's sacrifice fly to right.

"The pitch in the first inning that I wish I could have back was the one to Valdespin," said McHugh. "He put a good swing on it and snuck the ball down the line."

Jones continued the scoring by crushing a 1-1 fastball to right, making it a 3-0 game.

Altuve immediately responded in the home half by stroking a leadoff blast to left-center field.

The Astros stranded runners at first and third in the fourth. Matt Dominguez singled and Jon Singleton walked before Carlos Corporan flied out, Marc Krauss popped up to short and Enrique Hernandez struck out to end the frame.

Ozuna hit his 16th homer of the year with one out in the sixth, pushing Miami's lead to 4-1.

Singleton tacked on a solo shot to left for Houston, making it a 4-2 game in the ninth, but Steve Cishek closed out the game, recording two strikeouts to earn his save 26th save of the season.
