Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios (ankle) was not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays and is expected to miss Monday's game against the NY Yankees.
Insight: Rios sprained his ankle in the batter's box Saturday night. He's batting .310 in July.

7/20/2014 12:25:00 PM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios (ankle) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
Insight: Rios sprained his ankle in the batter's box Saturday night and is day-to-day. With a .179 career average (5-for-28) against Sunday's starter Mark Buehrle, he wouldn't have been a good fantasy option anyway.

7/19/2014 1:44:00 PM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios left Saturday's game in the first inning after injuring his ankle on a foul ball.
Insight: Rios has batted at least .310 in every month except June. He's putting together a solid stat line - .302, 4 HR, 42 RBI, 41 runs, 16 steals. This doesn't appear to be more than a day-to-day injury.

6/28/2014 12:49:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is not in Saturday's starting lineup.
Insight: Rios has struggled the past two weeks (.154) after a fast start to the season. His home run total is lagging well behind last season, but his overall numbers are still solid (.305, 3 HR, 34 RBI, 34 runs, 13 SB, .778 OPS)

6/17/2014 10:32:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is 1-for-12 with four strikeouts against Oakland left-hander Tommy Milone.
Insight: Rios is putting together an excellent season batting .324 with 3 HR, 32 RBI, 33 runs scored, eight triples and 12 steals. As long as your league doesn't use "net steals" as a category as he's been caught a league-high eight times. This is a matchup to be avoided.

Hot5/31/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is 10-for-19 (.526) against Washington right-hander Doug Fister.
Insight: Rios is hot, batting .385 over the past two weeks to raise his average to .319. Two complains with his performance this season, however. He's hit just three homers after blasting 18 last season and he's been caught stealing a league-leading six times, so if your league uses net steals he's been hurting you more than helping.

Hot5/28/2014 9:56:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios has gone 27-for-70 (.386) with five doubles, four triples and one homer in his last 18 games.
Insight: Rios has picked up multiple hits in seven straight games while hitting .516 in that span. He's up to .330 on the year, though he only has three home runs due to a 5.4 percent HR/FB.

Hot5/27/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is a career .458 hitter (11-for-24) with a 1.148 OPS versus Minnesota starter Phil Hughes.
Insight: Rios is batting .322 with three home runs, 29 RBI, 24 runs, nine steals and an .831 OPS this season after his sixth consecutive multi-hit day. He's a must start on Tuesday.

Hot5/25/2014 8:14:00 PM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios has had multiple hits in five straight games.
Insight: Rios is quietly batting .316 with three home runs, 29 RBI, 22 runs, eight steals and an .816 OPS this season after going 2-for-6 with a triple and three RBI Sunday at Detroit.

4/22/2014 11:56:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is hitless in nine career at-bats against Oakland starter Tommy Malone.
Insight: Rios has stuck out four times. He's been good this season, batting .325 with 10 RBI and eight runs scored, but this is an unfavorable matchup.

4/16/2014 10:41:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios has batted.219 with 12 strikeouts against Felix Hernandez of the Mariners.
Insight: Rios has 32 career at-bats against the M's starter. He's also 3-for-23 over his last six games, so avoid him Wednesday.

Hot4/5/2014 10:28:00 AM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios is a career .407 hitter with six extra base hits and a 1.281 OPS versus Rays left-hander David Price.
Insight: Rios is batting .400 this season and has a favorable matchup.

3/31/2014 9:24:00 PM
Description: Rangers right fielder Alex Rios went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI on Opening Day.
Insight: Rios has hit .291 with an average of 22 homers, 86 RBI, 88 runs and 32 steals over the past two seasons. He should enjoy hitting in the Rangers' high-octane lineup for a full season after spending 109 of his 156 games with the White Sox last year.

3/6/2014 2:26:00 PM
Description: Right fielder Alex Rios has suffered a mild right oblique strain.
Insight: Rios will likely sit out a week or two and could be a little behind when the regular season begins. He's a quiet fantasy star who contributes to all categories (.278, 18 HR, 83 runs, 81 RBI, 42 SB in 2013), but rarely gets a lot of attention.

9/30/2013 9:46:00 AM
Description: Right fielder Alex Rios is a career .435 hitter (10-for-23) with two homers and seven RBI against Rays left-hander David Price.
Insight: Rios' OPS was down almost 100 points from the previous season, but in a one-game situation you have to go with the favorable matchup and this is one of them.

8/9/2013 2:32:00 PM
Description: Right fielder Alex Rios has been traded to Texas. SOURCE: Dan Hayes, Comcast Sportsnet Chicago
Insight: The White Sox will get a player to be named later. Rios provides the Rangers with a nice mix of power (12 HR) and speed (26 steals). The move will give top prospect Avisail Garcia a chance to see regular at bats in the major leagues.

8/8/2013 4:52:00 PM
Description: The Rangers put in a waiver claim for White Sox right fielder Alex Rios on Thursday. SOURCE: Evan Grant, Dallas Morning News
Insight: Texas is desperate for a bat now that Nelson Cruz has been suspended for PED use. We'll see if the White Sox are willing to work out a deal, though at this point it seems unlikely. If the Sox had really wanted to move Rios they probably would have done it before last week's trade deadline.

8/3/2013 10:11:00 AM
Description: White Sox outfielder Alex Rios is a career .111 hitter (3-for-27) versus Detroit starter Max Scherzer.
Insight: Rios is batting .272 with 12 HR, 51 RBI and a .753 OPS, but the failure of the White Sox as a team to produce much offensively has hurt Rios' totals. Avoid this matchup.

8/2/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: White Sox outfielder Alex Rios is a career .500 hitter (8-for-16) versus Detroit starter Doug Fister.
Insight: Rios exited Tuesday's game with a bruised foot after fouling a ball off it and was involved in some trade discussions, but his foot is OK and he's still with the White Sox following the trade deadline. He's batting .272 with 12 HR, 50 RBI and a .747 OPS and should be in all fantasy lineups on Friday.

7/31/2013 4:31:00 PM
Description: According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, Alex Rios (foot) is in the White Sox lineup Wednesday against Cleveland.
Insight: Rios exited Tuesday's game with a bruised foot after fouling a ball off it and was involved in some trade discussions, but his foot is OK and he's still with the White Sox following the trade deadline.
