Description: Indians starter Carlos Carrasco nearly pitched a complete game but settled for eight and 2/3 innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits, striking out eight and walking none to beat the White Sox on Sunday.
Insight: Carrasco has not allowed more than one earned run per start since Aug. 5. In his last six starts, Carrasco is 4-0 with an incredible 0.70 ERA in 38 and 2/3 innings. If he is somehow still available in your league, pick him up and ride out his hot streak.

Hot8/22/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Indians starter Carlos Carrasco had his third straight terrific start Friday against Houston. He gave up one run on two hits and struck out eight in six innings.
Insight: Carrasco has allowed just seven hits and one run while posting a 17/2 K/BB over 18 innings in three starts since he joined the rotation. The 27-year-old has great stuff, but he's never been able to put it all together. Right now, he's dominating and needs to be added in most leagues.

8/16/2014 9:50:00 PM
Description: Indians starter Carlos Carrasco has won both of his starts since he rejoined the rotation.
Insight: Carrasco has given up just five hits and walked none over 12 scoreless innings in the span. The right-hander has very good stuff, but he's never been able to put it together. He's worth a pickup in deep mixed leagues due to his upside.

8/10/2014 5:20:00 PM
Description: In his return to the Indians' rotation, Carlos Carrasco held the Yankees scoreless on two hits, struck out four and didn't walk anyone in five innings.
Insight: Carrasco has great stuff, but he's never been able to put it together. He did put up a 2.30 ERA as a reliever this season, but his career ERA as a starter is 5.54 in 251 2/3 innings.

Cold4/29/2014 5:13:00 PM
Description: The Indians have moved Carlos Carrasco to the bullpen, according to mlb.com.
Insight: He has a 6.95 ERA this season and is out of minor league options. We could see Trevor Bauer -- 1.40 ERA, 28/7 K/BB in 25 2/3 innings with Triple-A Columbus -- get his shot, though Josh Tomlin is also an option for Cleveland.

Cold4/20/2014 4:15:00 PM
Description: Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco has allowed four earned runs or more in all three starts this season. He gave up four on six hits with three walks in 5 2/3 innings Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Insight: It's only a matter of time before the Indians give up on Carrasco and call up Trevor Bauer. Bauer has a 0.75 ERA and an 18/3 K/BB in 12 innings in the minors and allowed one run on four hits with eight strikeouts over six innings in a spot start for the Indians on April 9.

3/26/2014 11:33:00 AM
Description: Carlos Carrasco won the competition for the final spot in the Indians' rotation, according to Jordan Bastian of mlb.com.
Insight: The 27-year-old Carrasco throws hard but has a 5.29 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP in 238 1/3 big league innings. He also has a 5.17 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP this spring, compared to 3.54 and 1.18 for Josh Tomlin. The Indians want to control Tomlin's innings after he had Tommy John surgery in August 2012, so he'll start out in Triple-A along with Trevor Bauer.

7/7/2013 10:10:00 AM
Description: Cleveland righthander Carlos Carrasco was shipped back to Triple-A Columbus after Saturday's start against Detroit.
Insight: He's winless in six starts this season. Injuries to Brett Myers and Zach McAllister have forced the Indians to get creative with their starting rotation. Carrasco and Trevor Bauer have been bouncing around between Triple-A and the majors all year and they probably will be all season.

Description: Indians righthander Carlos Carrasco will make the start Saturday against the Tigers. SOURCE: Paul Hoynes, Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: He's been bouncing between the majors and Triple-A all season. Until Carrasco (0-3, 8.17 ERA) can carve out a permanent role for himself in the Indians' rotation, he won't be a fantasy option.

6/28/2013 8:32:00 PM
Description: The Indians have called up starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco from Triple-A Columbus.
Insight: Carrasco will pitch in Game 2 of Friday night's doubleheader versus the White Sox. Trevor Bauer got lit up in the first game of the double dip (6 H, 5 ER in just 2/3 of an inning) so Terry Francona will be counting on Carrasco to pitch deep into the game.

6/23/2013 6:50:00 PM
Description: Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco gave up three earned runs on six hits and walked four over 4 2/3 innings Sunday against the Twins.
Insight: Carrasco throws in the mid-90s, but he hasn't been able to put things together at the major league level. In 211 1/3 career innings over four seasons, Carrasco has a 5.20 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP.

6/17/2013 10:28:00 PM
Description: Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco was dominant in his return from a suspension.
Insight: Carrasco almost cut his ERA in half Monday (15.26 to 8.40) by giving up one run in seven innings. The 90-pitch performance was Carrasco's longest outing of the season.

6/9/2013 11:20:00 AM
Description: Indians starter Carlos Carrasco has dropped his appeal and will begin serving his eight-game suspension. SOURCE: Bob Nightengale, USA Today
Insight: The Tigers lit up Carrasco for six runs in four innings on Saturday. Carrasco was given the suspension for throwing at Yankees infielder Kevin Youkilis back in April.

6/8/2013 4:34:00 PM
Description: Righthander Carlos Carrasco has been called up from Triple-A.
Insight: He'll start for the Indians Saturday in Detroit. Carrasco is starting in place of Zach McAllister, who was recently placed on the disabled list with a sprained finger. Carrasco is just 10-16 with a 5.16 ERA in 34 major league starts.

5/29/2013 6:32:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has a 1.85 ERA and a 46/11 K/BB in 43 2/3 innings with Triple-A Columbus.
Insight: Carrasco is a former "Baseball America" top-100 prospect who possesses a mid-90s fastball, but he had Tommy John surgery in September 2011 and missed all of 2012. The right-hander has to serve an eight-game suspension in the majors for hitting Kevin Youkilis on April 9, so the team has been reluctant to call him up and play with 24 players for eight games.

4/12/2013 5:08:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has been handed an eight-game suspension for hitting Kevin Youkilis during Tuesday's game, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.
Insight: Carrasco was making his first start following a six-game suspension for the same thing. The first suspension was actually assessed back in 2011, but Carrasco suffered an elbow injury and never served it. He has been demoted to the minors, so his suspension won't start until he returns to the big league club.

4/10/2013 6:18:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has been demoted to the minors after allowing seven earned over 3 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Yankees. Carrasco was ejected for throwing at Kevin Youkilis.
Insight: Carrasco just finished serving a six-game suspension that was handed out in 2011, prior to his elbow injury, for the same reason. Another suspension could be headed his way. The right-hander was throwing 95-97 mph during the game but the team had no choice but to punish him. If Scott Kazmir isn't ready to pitch, we could see Trevor Bauer get recalled.

4/9/2013 8:38:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco was ejected from Tuesday's game for hitting Kevin Youkilis following a home run by Robinson Cano.
Insight: Carrasco just finished serving a six-game suspension that was handed out in 2011, prior to his elbow injury, for the same reason. Another suspension could be headed his way. The right-hander was throwing 95-97 mph during the game but he allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

4/7/2013 4:40:00 PM
Description: Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco will start Tuesday against the Yankees in place of the injured Scott Kazmir.
Insight: Carrasco will end his suspension that was handed out in 2011 prior to his elbow injury. He went 8-9 with a 4.62 ERA in 2011.

3/25/2013 9:05:00 PM
Description: Carlos Carrasco did not win a rotation spot but he will be on Cleveland's Opening Day roster so that he can finally serve his six-game suspension.
Insight: The suspension was actually handed out late in the 2011 season but Carrasco hurt his elbow shortly after that and never got a chance to serve it. Once the suspension is over, Carrasco will report to the Indians' Triple-A affiliate in Columbus.
