Probable Starting Pitchers: Detroit - Doug Fister (2-0, 2.87) Seattle - Aaron Harang (0-0, 0.00)

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers shoot for a third straight win on Tuesday when they continue a nine-game road trip with the first of three games against the Seattle Mariners.

Detroit opened its trek in impressive fashion, as it cooled off the red-hot Oakland Athletics, taking two of three from them, including a resounding 10-1 win in Sunday's finale that saw Austin Jackson go 4-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.

Torii Hunter added three hits -- two doubles and a triple -- to go with an RBI and two runs scored, while Miguel Cabrera added a pair of RBI for the Tigers, who improved to 7-5 on the season.

"Austin Jackson has been awesome at the top of the lineup," Hunter said. "He's been getting on base for Cabrera, myself, Prince (Fielder) and Victor (Martinez). He's the one setting the tone for all of us."

Anibal Sanchez (2-0) dazzled Oakland hitters for seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits and four walks while striking out eight.

On Tuesday, the Tigers will rely on righty Doug Fister, who has won both of his starts, while pitching to a 2.77 ERA. Fister was terrific in beating Toronto on Thursday, as he held them to a run and eight hits in eight innings. He also struck out five and walked a batter.

Fister, who pitched the first 2 1/2 years of his career in Seattle, tossed seven scoreless innings the only other time he faced the Mariners, but did not get a decision.

Seattle, meanwhile, will turn to veteran righty Aaron Harang, who was acquired from Colorado last week. Harang spent spring training with the Los Angeles Dodgers before being traded to the Rockies for catcher Ramon Hernandez on April 6.

The veteran right-hander hasn't appeared in a game this season, but went 10-10 with a career-low 3.61 earned run average in 31 starts with the Dodgers in 2012.

"I have to go out and do what I do," Harang said. "You try to do too much, you press and start making bad pitches. I need to stick to what my normal game plan is, same routine and go out and execute, making pitches when I need to."

Seattle also enters on a winning note after splitting a four-game set with the Texas Rangers. On Sunday, Jesus Montero knocked in the tying run and scored on Dustin Ackley's go-ahead single in the sixth inning to help the Mariners to a 4-3 win.

Raul Ibanez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, while Kyle Seager doubled twice, scored a run and knocked in another for the Mariners, who have now won two of three on the heels of a three-game losing streak.

Brandon Maurer (1-2) picked up his first win after a forgettable start to his big-league career. The 22-year-old righty had given up 12 runs over his first two starts, but allowed just three -- two earned -- on five hits over six frames Sunday.

Seattle was 5-1 against the Tigers last season.
