National League Game Summary - Colorado at San Francisco

(Sunday, April 13th)

Final Score: San Francisco 5, Colorado 4 (10 innings)

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Crawford hit a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the San Francisco Giants to a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies in the rubber game of a three-game set

Sergio Romo (1-0) allowed one hit and struck out a batter in the top of the 10th to keep it a tie game and earn the win.

Crawford, who finished with two RBI, led off the 10th and blasted Rex Brothers' (1-1) second offering into McCovey's Cove.

"Anytime you come in here it's going to be tough," said Brothers. "To come away short with that one stings a little more, especially for me personally."

Pablo Sandoval crushed a solo homer and Angel Pagan added two RBI for the Giants, who saw starter Tim Hudson hurl 7 1/3 innings and allow four runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

"This was a big game for us to be at home and get this series," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "We're showing already we're going to play a lot of tough ballgames. I thought that this was a big ballgame with LA coming in."

Wilin Rosario and Justin Morneau each slammed solo shots for Colorado, which has alternated wins and losses over its last eight games. DJ LaMahieu and Drew Stubbs had an RBI apiece in the setback.

Rockies starter Tyler Chatwood, who was activated from the disabled list prior to the game, allowed four runs with five strikeouts over six innings of work.

Rosario opened the scoring in the second with his homer to left, but the Giants responded with three runs in the fifth to take the lead.

Hunter Pence was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and Michael Morse followed with a single to left that enabled Pence to take third base. Crawford hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Pence and tied the game at 1-1.

Brandon Hicks singled, then he and Morse moved up a base on a wild pitch by Chatwood before Pagan singled to right, increasing the margin to 3-1.

Sandoval led off the bottom of the sixth with a homer to right and Morneau answered in the following inning with a solo shot to cut the deficit in half, 4-2, after seven.

Nolan Arenado and LeMahieu clubbed doubles to leadoff the eighth, with LeMahieu's two-bagger driving in Arenado. Stubbs singled in LeMahieu after a sacrifice bunt from Brandon Barnes to knot the game at 4-4.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Gregor Blanco crushed one to right that caromed off the wall toward the right-field line. Michael Cuddyer fell once in hit the wall and then had trouble picking the ball up which allowed Blanco the chance for an inside-the-park homer. Cuddyer rifled it in to LaMahieu, who fired to the plate to nab Blanco.
