Description: Although it is a small sample size, Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison is 4-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk against Giants starter Madison Bumgarner.
Insight: Harrison just behind Justin Morneau for the NL batting title with a .315 average. He also had 58 extra-base hits, 52 RBI, 77 runs and 18 stolen bases. Pittsburgh will need him to set the tone on Wednesday.

Insight: With one week to go in the season, Harrison leads the batting title race by nine ten-thousanth of a point over Justin Morneau. Harrison also has a .350 on-base percentage, .500 slugging percentage, 13 home runs, 52 RBI, 72 runs and 17 steals this year.

Insight: Harrison's two-RBI double started a big fifth inning for the Pirates as they erased a 3-0 deficit to comeback and win, 7-3. Harrison is hitting .357 in September and now leads the National League with a .317 batting average. He also has a .351 on-base percentage and .508 slugging percentage with 51 RBI and 71 runs.

Insight: Harrison went 0-for-5 on Thursday to drop his average to .314 but he is back to .318 after Friday. In his last two games against the Cubs, Harrison is 7-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI. He also walked on Friday.

Insight: Harrison rolled his left ankle making a catch on Saturday. He has not played since then. The 27-year-old has had a tremendous season, batting .315 with 13 HR, 48 RBI, 66 runs and 17 SB in 124 games.

Insight: Harrison left after rolling his left ankle after making a catch in the first game on Saturday and did not return. He went through drills in Sunday's pre-game but apparently did not feel well enough to go. Pittsburgh did just fine, scoring 10 runs.

Description: Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison left Saturday afternoon's resumed suspended game with an ankle injury according to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: Harrison suffered the injury making a catch in foul ground. Chase d'Arnaud replaced Harrison at third base. Before departing, Harrison went 4-for-6 with the game-winning single in the top of the 11th. With another game on Saturday, Harrison will likely need to rest and could be out a few days. The Pirates need him though as they continue to chase after a playoff spot.

Insight: Harrison played out of his mind on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI and run. He also showcased the leather bailing the Pirates out of a few jams in the field. In the last four games, Harrison is hitting .412 with two doubles, a triple and home run. The new everyday Pirate third baseman is batting .308 with 49 extra-base hits, 45 RBI, 62 runs, and 17 steals this year.

Insight: He went 3-for-4 with a double, a steal and two runs Wednesday and is up to .309 with 10 homers, 38 RBI, 50 runs, 14 steals and an .849 OPS on the year. Harrison made the NL All-Star team, but this torrid stretch has really come out of nowhere. He hit .286 with five homers, 31 RBI, 36 runs and a .751 OPS in his first 87 games.

Insight: Harrison was a questionable choice for the NL All-Star team, but there's no denying he's been a valuable utility player for Pittsburgh this season, filling in at second, third and both corner outfield spots. He's picked up 282 at-bats and hit .294 with six home runs, 33 RBI, 38 runs and 13 steals.
