Description: Brewers lefty Chris Narveson will miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained left middle finger, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Insight: Narveson "felt a pop" when throwing a curveball in a bullpen session Saturday. Former Brewers starter Ben Sheets suffered the same injury in 2007 and missed six weeks. Narveson missed most of last season due to a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff and started this season in the bullpen. His injury will give Mike Fiers and Wily Peralta more leash in the rotation.

3/29/2013 8:55:00 PM
Description: Brewers lefty Chris Narveson will start the season as a long reliever.
Insight: The move is being made to help limit his innings following shoulder surgery. Mike Fiers was reported to be the one moving to the bullpen, but he will serve as the fifth starter after all.

2/14/2013 12:06:00 PM
Description: Brewers lefty Chris Narveson said his surgically repaired shoulder is completely healed. "It feels like you've got a new arm," Narveson said. SOURCE: MLBlogs.com
Insight: Narveson reportedly looked fantastic in a bullpen session in front of a trio of trainers on Wednesday. The lefty only made two starts last year and recorded a 7.00 ERA in nine innings. He did win 23 games over 2010 and 2011 but with an ERA in the high fours.

4/20/2011 4:37:00 PM
Description: Chris Narveson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a tear in his left rotator cuff.
Insight: Narveson doesn't have any value in mixed leagues but this doesn't sound good for those who own him in deeper NL-only formats. According to MLBDepthCharts.com, either Marco Estrada or Wily Peralta will take Narveson's spot in the rotation.

4/10/2011 6:06:00 AM
Description: Chris Narveson threw seven scoreless innings last night, giving him 13 scoreless frames in 2011.
Insight: It's definitely time to pick him up in deeper leagues. Narveson showed good skills in 2010 but didn't get good results. He could really break through this season.

4/4/2011 6:35:00 PM
Description: Chris Narveson allowed three hits and three walks during six scoreless innings today.
Insight: He didn't factor into the decision but this was a great first starter for a team that really needed one. Narveson showed decent skills last season despite mediocre surface stats. He should be owned in deep leagues.

10/1/2010 12:01:00 AM
Description: Narveson allowed one run on four hits over 6.2 innings against the Mets on Thursday.
Insight: Narveson got a win, and is 12-9 with a 4.99 ERA on the season. (RapidDraft.com)

9/30/2010 8:27:00 PM
Description: Brewers SP Chris Narveson allowed just one run to the Mets in 6 2/3 innings of work, leaving the game with a 4-1 lead. He gave up 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 9.
Insight: Until Narveson lowers his WHIP by decreasing his walk rate, he will be nothing more than a match-ups guy in NL-only leagues.

8/4/2010 10:50:00 AM
Description: Narveson allowed one run on six hits over 5.2 innings on Tuesday night against the Cubs.
Insight: Narveson picked up a win, and is now 9-7 with a 5.68 this season. (SportsBuff.com)

7/18/2010 8:22:00 AM
Description: Brewers SP Chris Narveson allowed just 2 runs over 6 innings, on 6 hits and a walk. He picked up his 8th victory of the season.
Insight: Narveson's WHIP and ERA are too high for him to be used in mixed leagues.

6/28/2010 10:19:00 AM
Description: Narveson pitched eight shutout innings, allowing four hits, against the Mariners on Sunday.
Insight: Narveson is now 7-4 with a 5.17 ERA this season, and could become worth consideration in NL-only leagues if he can continue to pitch well. (SportsBuff.com)

6/23/2010 1:15:00 AM
Description: Narveson allowed three runs on five hits over five innings against the Twins on Tuesday night.
Insight: All three runs came in the first inning, after which Narveson settled in nicely. He is now 6-4 with a 5.76 ERA this season. (SportsBuff.com)

5/20/2010 11:38:00 PM
Description: Narveson allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings against the Pirates on Thursday.
Insight: Narveson pitched solidly in a favorable matchup, and is now 4-1 with a 5.17 ERA this season. (SportsBuff.com)

5/10/2010 10:23:00 AM
Description: Narveson allowed one run on three hits over 5.2 innings against Arizona on Sunday.
Insight: Narveson struck out eight and walked two in the game and is now 3-0 with a 5.06 ERA this season, so his spot in the Brewers' starting rotation is secure for now. He gets the Phillies in his next outing. (SportsBuff.com)

5/5/2010 10:29:00 AM
Description: Narveson allowed three runs on four hits over six innings against the Dodgers on Tuesday night.
Insight: Narveson was the beneficiary of excellent run support, is now 2-0 with a 6.00 ERA this season. (SportsBuff.com)

3/30/2010 11:35:00 PM
Description: Narveson threw three scoreless innings on Tuesday against the Angels.
Insight: Narveson is competing with Manny Parra for the fifth spot in the Brewers' starting rotation, and may have the upper hand since he has thrown 12 scoreless innings this spring. (SportsBuff.com)
