Description: Rockies left-hander Franklin Morales has been scratched from Friday's start.
Insight: He's expecting the birth of his child. Morales has a 4.97 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP this season and he's allowed 20 homers in 112 1/3 innings, so nobody was starting him anyway. Matt Belisle and the bullpen will try to piece together nine innings.

Description: Rockies left-hander Franklin Morales has lost his place in the starting rotation. SOURCE: Nick Groke, Denver Post
Insight: He was lit up for eight hits and six runs last time out against the Indians and is now winless in his last six starts. Eddie Butler will be called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs later in the week to take Morales' spot in the rotation.

4/23/2014 9:32:00 AM
Description: Rockies starter Franklin Morales was lights out Tuesday in a win over San Francisco.
Insight: Morales surrendered just one run over seven innings, striking out seven with two walks. After losing his spot in the starting rotation earlier this season, Morales (2-1, 3.86 ERA) got it back last week when Brett Anderson underwent surgery to repair a broken finger. We'll see how long he holds onto his job this time around.

Description: It looks like Red Sox lefty Franklin Morales could be headed to the disabled list. SOURCE: RedSox.com
Insight: Morales (2-0, 7.30 ERA) injured his shoulder during a relief appearance Saturday against Detroit. Morales has been filling in as an occasional starter as well so a trip to the DL would certainly give Boston's rotation less depth. Allen Webster could be a candidate to fill that long relief role, though he's struggled in his past couple appearances (13 ER in his last six innings).

Description: Boston will turn to Franklin Morales for the start Wednesday versus Tampa Bay. SOURCE: Evan Drellich, Springfield Republican
Insight: It's just a spot start so fantasy owners don't need to rush to the waiver wire to go pick him up. Morales made one start earlier in the year, allowing two runs in five innings against the Phillies.

5/28/2013 4:52:00 PM
Description: Red Sox left-hander Franklin Morales, who has been out since spring training with neck and pectoral issues, has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Insight: Morales will join the bullpen, so he'll have no fantasy value initially. The left-hander went 3-3 with a 4.14 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings in nine starts last season, so he'll have some mixed league intrigue if he earns a spot in the rotation at some point.

12/1/2012 9:52:00 PM
Description: New Boston manager John Farrell is planning on using lefthander Franklin Morales as a starter next season.
Insight: That gives the Red Sox a tentative starting rotation of Morales, Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, Felix Doubront and John Lackey. Morales went 3-3 with a 4.14 ERA in nine starts last season.

7/17/2012 4:09:00 PM
Description: Boston will move Franklin Morales back to the bullpen and stick with Aaron Cook in the rotation.
Insight: Morales has been good, but Cook has been better. Plus, Morales has extended experience coming out of the bullpen, which likely factored into this decision. We would have liked to see Morales (10.6 K/9 as a starter) keep the job over Cook (two strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings), but the Red Sox are evidently betting that Cook's 3.34 ERA is for real.

Description: Franklin Morales will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs by the Rockies today. SOURCE: Denver Post
Insight: This move is done strictly because the Rockies need help in the bullpen. With Manny Corpas out, he could become the prime setup man. Still, don't expect him to do amazing, so only make a play for him if you have a shaky pen.

4/23/2010 8:20:00 AM
Description: Morales recorded his third save of the season on Thursday for the Rockies.
Insight: Morales had blown his past two save opportunities so it was nice to see him lock it down for the Rockies. (SportsBuff.com)

4/19/2010 8:17:00 AM
Description: Morales gave up two runs on two hits in only 0.2 innings on Sunday against the Braves.
Insight: Morales also walked two batters as he took the loss and blew his second straight save. (SportsBuff.com)

4/6/2010 8:57:00 AM
Description: Morales picked up his first save of the season on Monday against the Brewers.
Insight: Morales, who is filling in for an injured Huston Street, did allowed a run on a hit but was able to shut the door on the Brewers. (SportsBuff.com)

3/8/2010 8:43:00 AM
Description: Morales had a rough Spring start on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed eight runs on seven hits in only 1.2 innings of work.
Insight: Morales walked two and gave up two three-run home runs. (SportsBuff.com)
