Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner continues to frustrate fantasy owners as he lost again on Tuesday.
Insight: Cashner doesn't have excellent numbers with a 3.16 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but he has certainly been better than his 1-5 record indicates. The Padres have yielded 10 unearned runs in Cashner's six starts. To make matters worse, the offense has given Cashner two runs in his last three starts. Hopefully the bad luck for Cashner ends soon. Cashner didn't get any run support as the score was, 3-1, when he left. In seven innings, Cashner allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits. He also had a season-high 10 strikeouts and just one walk. Cashner is 1-4 this season but supports a 2.61 ERA.

4/19/2015 6:26:00 PM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner won his first game of the season as he again didn't allow an earned run on Sunday.
Insight: In his last two starts, Cashner hasn't allowed an earned run, but he has allowed lots of hits and unearned runs. Luckily on Sunday, the Padres were able to score enough to make up for their errors. Cashner is 1-2 with a 2.65 ERA, 20 strikeouts and 1.53 WHIP n 17 innings this season.

3/9/2015 7:25:00 PM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner is not dealing with a health issue afterall.
Insight: Cashner left Monday's Spring Training game walking next to manager Bud Black and the trainer, but MLB.com reports that is because Cashner was just alerted about a personal matter back home in Texas. It is unclear how long Cashner might be away from the team, but it is not health related.

3/9/2015 6:35:00 PM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner left Monday's Spring Training game alongside manager Bud Black and the team trainer according to U-T San Diego.
Insight: Cashner pitched three innings of hitless ball, walking one and striking out three. The injury and its seriousness is unknown. Check back for updates.

9/21/2014 9:06:00 AM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner nearly threw his second straight complete game shutout as he defeated the Giants, 3-2, on Saturday.
Insight: Cashner pitched eight shutout innings before giving up a solo home run to Hunter Pence and single to Joe Panik to begin the ninth. Cashner exited and saw the tying run reach third base, but San Diego held onto the victory. Cashner has won his last three starts with an ERA of 1.50 over that span. He is 5-7 with a 2.21 ERA in 18 starts this year.

9/15/2014 1:12:00 PM
Description: Padres righty Andrew Cashner continues to be a victim of poor run support this season.
Insight: Cashner's last three starts have essentially told the story of his 2014 campaign (1-1, 2.25 ERA). His 3-7 overall record has not been indicative of how well he has pitched this year, however his 2.40 ERA is a nice sight for owners. With a 1.54 ERA at home, Cashner is a recommended play tonight against an inconsistent Phillies lineup.

8/30/2014 9:57:00 AM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner took a no-decision on Friday against the Dodgers in his second start since being activated from the disabled list.
Insight: Cashner looked much stronger in this second start than in his first off the DL. He went six innings, yielded one run on six hits, struck out eight and walked none. In 87 and 1/3 innings this year, Cashner has a 2.37 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.

8/23/2014 10:49:00 PM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner pitched five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, in his return from the disabled list.
Insight: This was Cashner's first start since June 18. He does not have a good record this season at 2-6, but he would be a valuable pickup for a playoff-bound fantasy team if he is available.

Description: Padres manager Bud Black told MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that right-hander Andrew Cashner (shoulder) could return from the disable list as soon as this weekend.
Insight: Cashner allowed three runs in five innings Monday in his third minor league rehab start with Triple-A El Paso. If he returns this weekend, don't expect a long outing from him because his highest pitch count in his three rehab starts is 63. Cashner has been out since June 23, but he should be a nice boost to fantasy owners if they stuck with him. He was able to throw sliders without soreness. Cashner (2-6, 2.36 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) was placed on the disabled list with shoulder soreness in June. He's been on the disabled list twice this season due to arm injuries.
