Insight: Paxton went 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA, a 0.67 WHIP and a 13/2 K/BB in 12 innings before suffering a strained lat. Keep him stashed, as he is one of Seattle's top prospects and will get his rotation spot back when he's healthy.

Insight: Paxton surrendered four hits and three runs before exiting. He's probably headed to the disabled list. Taijuan Walker, who is close to returning from a shoulder injury, is likely to absorb Paxton's place in the starting rotation.

Description: Mariners lefthander James Paxton (6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 K's, 2 BB) overwhelmed the Cardinals Saturday for his second win of the year.
Insight: So far, the September callup has done pretty well for himself. In two starts, opponents are only hitting .140 against him with eight strikeouts. Paxton's next start comes against the Tigers.
