Description: Ben Francisco has agreed to a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres.
Insight: Francisco was let go by the Yankees on June 4th. He's been assigned to Triple-A Tucson so we won't see him in the majors unless someone in the Padres' outfield gets injured.

5/26/2013 12:25:00 PM
Description: Yankees outfielder Ben Francisco has been designated for assignment.
Insight: Francisco only logged 44 at bats during his brief stint with the Bombers. He'll probably find another gig but we doubt Francisco will be able to produce anything fantasy-worthy.

3/11/2013 9:58:00 PM
Description: The Indians released outfielder Ben Francisco on Friday. Luckily for Francisco, the Yankees offered Francisco a minor league contract just a few hours later and he accepted.
Insight: Francisco woke up playing for Cleveland and will now go to sleep as a member of the Yankees. In between, he was unemployed. Monday was a strange day for Francisco to say the least. If Francisco impresses the Yankees in spring training, he could wind up as the team's starting left fielder until Curtis Granderson is healthy again. New York's other left field options are Juan Rivera (.224, 9 HR, 47 RBI) and Matt Diaz (.222, 2 HR, 13 RBI).

8/31/2012 9:41:00 PM
Description: Ben Francisco is headed to Tampa Bay. The Rays acquired the outfielder Friday in a trade with Houston. The Astros will receive a player to be named later.
Insight: Francisco struggled to a .247 average in 31 games with the Astros before Friday's trade. You can ignore him in fantasy.

8/7/2012 10:31:00 AM
Description: Houston OF Ben Francisco is 5-for-9 (.556) in his career against Washington starter Ross Dewiler with a pair of homers and a 1.778 OPS.
Insight: Francisco hasn't done much this season, but this matchup looks too good to resist.

6/25/2011 1:50:00 AM
Description: Phillies OF Ben Francisco had been transitioned back to the bench and wasn't too happy about it when it happened... but when you deliver a clutch hit in a pinch hit role like the one tonight against Oakland, it makes it easier.
Insight: The Phillies' pinch-hitter delivered an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning that lifted the Phillies to a 1-0 win over the Oakland Athletics. Shane Victorino walked to start the inning against Brian Fuentes and went to second on Domonic Brown's one-out single to right. Both runners would advance on a ground out which gave Francisco a chance to deliver with two on and one out. He did with a high bouncing ball over the third baseman's head. He has little fantasy value as a pinch hitter, but there is a good chance he could get back into the every day lineup with a few more of these clutch hits.

3/30/2011 12:01:00 AM
Description: Manager Charlie Manuel said Tuesday that Francisco is "going to get that chance" to get 450 at-bats in a MLB season for the first time, according to The (Delaware) News Journal.
Insight: Francisco will start in right field after a .385 spring that included a 1.144 OPS. He hit 15 homers in 405 at-bats in 2009 and 447 in 2008, so there's at least OK power around. He's certainly worth a late shot in fantasy -- especially in NL-only -- as he gets a chance to start in a hitters park. (RapidDraft.com)

3/28/2011 5:03:00 PM
Description: Ben Francisco hit his 3rd homer of the spring on Monday raising his average to .385 this spring.
Insight: Francisco opened the spring in a competition with the rookie prospect Dominic Brown and he has been dominant and earned the starting nod. Francisco should be valuable in NL only formats.

3/22/2011 3:41:00 PM
Description: Ben Francisco went 3 for 3 on Tuesday to raise his spring average to .365.
Insight: You should start considering Francisco in the late rounds of your draft as he looks like the every day right fielder in a very productive lineup.

3/15/2011 6:32:00 PM
Description: Ben Francisco is proving that he deserves to be the starting RF in Philadelphia this season as he went deep today in a 3 for 3 performance raising his spring average to .368.
Insight: Dominic Brown will eventually replace Francisco but he may give you production for the entire season based on this spring's happenings. He could be a nice sleeper in mixed leagues as alot of people won't have them on their draft boards.

2/27/2011 6:43:00 PM
Description: Ben Francisco went 2-3, homered and drove in three runs today. Meanwhile Domonic Brown struck out all three times at the plate.
Insight: On game isn't a big deal but string a few of these games together in March and the Phillies could opt to start Brown's season in Triple-A while using Francisco every day.

1/16/2011 4:24:00 PM
Description: The Phillies would like to start Domonic Brown's season in Triple-A and have Ben Francisco play more frequently than he did last year. SOURCE: PHILLY.COM
Insight: Francisco offers a little speed and power so he can be an asset in deep leagues if he gets to play most days during the first half of the season while he keeps the spot warm for Brown.

9/30/2010 8:04:00 AM
